It is well documented that using LEGO bricks is a very powerful educational tool for children, see LEGO Education, however this is not what the Brick Classicists Empire or BCE (previously Lego Classicists) represents. The BCE promotes the often misunderstood serious use of LEGO by tertiary level academics and students, scholars, museum curators and conservators to explore complex ideas, concepts and theories in the study of ancient history, language, archaeology, museum conservation and academic writing. This means that LEGO is used as an engaging and often wry medium or conduit for exploring ideas and deeper understanding. The Lego Group also promotes the use of LEGO bricks for higher education through their LEGO Serious Play programme.
