INTERNATIONAL LEGO CLASSICISM DAY 2025
HOST AND THE BCE PANTHEON

This page is dedicated to the host of the 9th annual International Lego Classicism Day, or ILCD, and the BCE Pantheon of official content creators for the day.

The Host

Since the inception of International LEGO Classicism Day in 2017 we have invited a classics university department, museum or ancient history institution to be the official host for the day. This year we are honoured to have the Ure Museum of Greek Archaeology, University of Reading, UK, to be our official host for the day. The BCE also collaborated with Prof Amy Smith, curator of the Museum, to create two new special LEGO mini figure BCE portraits of the founders of The Ure Museum, Prof. Percy Neville Ure (1879–1950) and Annie Dunman Hunt Ure (1893–1976).

The BCE Pantheon

Since 2020, each year on International LEGO Classicism Day the Brick Classicists Empire invites up to 12 institutions, academics and individuals of all ages, called the BCE Pantheon, to create official content for the day across social media platforms.

Through this BCE Pantheon the aim is to help spread diverse content about the ancient world to a wider, more general audience to help the understanding of how the ancient world is relevant to us all in contemporary life.

This year the BCE Pantheon consisted of people from around the world and it was organised and co-ordinated from Australia and content was shared across Facebook, Instagram and X (formerly Twitter) and also, through blogs by participating academics:“Dead” Languages… in Lego! by Dr. Pippa Steele, The Bookshop of Lost Books by Dr. Cora Beth Fraser and Lego and Latin 2025 by Dr. Helen Forte.
